hi, admin from fedi.absturztau.be here

just a couple of words to this

3 of those users are long gone from my instance and i deactivated their accounts
the other 2 users rarely post stuff and went under my radar. starting to investigate those cases together with my mod team

which leads me to this: how about reporting such posts to the instance admin first before posting an MR here so the admins have a chance to solve that problem. by not reporting such users, they still remain on that instance undetected for longer while the instance itself lands on blocklists with no real chance of even reacting in before hand. we (the mod team and me) take reports seriously but without getting any, such users might remain under our radar.

the majority of our userbase are open and respectful towards everyone, regardless of gender, sexuality, origin, race and whatnot. those 5 users are not representing that majority.

TLDR: reports would have helped because we do moderate our instance but stuff easily can be hidden from us for quite some time. so sadly we are depending on ppl reporting those cases

i'm open to discuss this further here or on fedi (if you haven't blocked my instance yet) at least i hope i get notified first on what will happen with this MR before it gets merged or something.

Hi @absturztaube, we do not add instances to the list because a few users misbehave. We add instances if admins/mods tolerate it or are misbehaving themselves. Our workflow in cases like this is:

Look up the posts/users and report them to the admin
Wait a week or so
Look again if the posts/users are still there

we took action and removed the posts in question as they violate our ToS.

the accounts of the 3 users long gone got deactivated one account got deactivated after investigating further content one account got a warning because it seems to be the only occurance

@tastytea please recheck. if the posts are still visible on my instance, let me know. thank you
